Episode One

Melissa Marshall is proud to present the newest addition to the No You Cant'cer Foundation, Melissa Marshall's Bag of Tricks and Ostomy Tips! Every Tuesday, Melissa will be back to introduce you to an all-new ostomy product, or accessory, and tell you where to get it. She will highlight products you may already have, some imported from other countries, and a few little items that you may have never thought to include in your own ostomy regimen.
For her very first episode, Melissa first tried the One Piece Drainable Ostomy Pouch with a Flat Ceraplus Barrier. The added Ceramide is said to protect your skin against erosion and protect from further irritation. There is also a filter that allows for a small amount of gas to release, helping to keep the sleek, unnoticeable, look. This was the first one piece appliance Melissa had ever tried and she was anxious to see how it stacked up against her usual Hollister two piece pouch. Unfortunately, the microseal closure didn't hold and was leaking after two hours of casual wear. However, this sample was given to her by a Hollister representative at her ostomy support group, so it is possible that the bag was damaged in some way. While this particular pouch wasn't for her, she believes it could be right for you, if you are already confident in the world of one piece bags.

If you would like to try this pouch, or learn more about it, you can visit it's page on the Hollister website HERE. If you do try a sample, or have used this model before, please let Melissa know in the comments.

Melissa wasn't originally going to try product two, the One Piece Drainable Ostomy Pouch with a Soft Convex Ceraplus Barrier. However, when the first pouch failed, Melissa thought that, maybe, the Convex Ceraplus pouch might be for her. Unfortunately, the bag began to seep after a short while and Melissa had to defer back to her trusty two piece Hollister Pouch. Again, this sample came from a Hollister rep, and could have been damaged during their travels.

If you would like to try this pouch, or learn more about it, you can visit it's page on the Hollister website HERE. If you do try a sample, or have used this model before, please let Melissa Know in the comments.

You can see all of Hollister's lifesaving appliances on their website HERE
