Furthermore, first place winner will also have an exclusive recording contract with Universal Music Singapore while second place will have one with Sony Music.
The Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize is an biennial award that recognises cities that have shown vision, good governance and innovation in tackling urban challenges to create sustainable, vibrant and liveable communities for their residents. Established by UN-Habitat with Singapore government support, its winners are selected by an expert jury comprised of economists, architects, urban planners and social scientists.
Critics Circle hosted a special ceremony to award this prize, held as part of Earthshot Week, and which brought together global leaders and businesses to accelerate solutions and help repair our planet. Earthshot Week will also include local activations experiences for attendees to experience Earthshot solutions, as well as performances by acclaimed artists and musicians – drawing an estimated attendance of over 150,000 guests. The awards were presented by HRH Prince Charles and HRH Duchess of Cornwall alongside NUS president Cheryl Lim and minister for communications and information Goh Chok Chuan. Winners were chosen from over 500 nominations. They will receive their awards at a special ceremony taking place in November, as well as having the chance to network with leaders around the globe and share ideas on how best to address some of its most pressing problems.
