As the global race to address climate change intensifies, Singapore stands out as an innovative and effective hub of solutions. Starting 2023, we will present the Earthshot Prize to start-ups and companies throughout Southeast Asia who develop technologies that reduce carbon emissions while creating a greener future.

Gold winners in particular stood out.
BBH Singapore won both Agency of the Year and Marketing Effectiveness awards with their transformative campaign for Income Insurance. Their use of bold ideas and inventive techniques to tell a complex tale from an often neglected industry was what set them apart from competitors.
National University of Singapore Professor Emeritus Peter Ellinger was recently recognized for his memoir Down Memory Lane as being one of the Best English Debut books of 2018. Judges described it as being “an impressive undertaking…with personal, political, historical, sociocultural and sociocultural threads woven together with stunning clarity”.
EtonHouse Pre-School Upper Bukit Timah earned Silver for their project that helps students develop emotional intelligence through interactive activities. Their team leveraged an existing digital platform to create an engaging learning experience for their pupils.
This year marks the second time this award has been bestowed; with its winner receiving a cash prize of S$3,500 that they can use towards their school’s art program. A panel of arts and culture experts shortlisted entries before awarding one their Judges Prize worth S$1,400 as their favourite.
At a ceremony at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, violinists Dmytro Udovychenko, Anna Agafia Egholm and Angela Sin Ying Chan were named 2022 Singapore International Violin Competition champions and will each receive USD $110,000 cash awards plus multiple concert engagements as prizes.
Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam presented the award, in partnership with Singapore Book Council and Temasek Trust. A panel of experts in art, design, culture and media selected winning entries as winners of this year’s award.
