The eighth Inter-school Competition on Study Projects on Hong Kong History and Culture took place recently, culminating with a prize presentation ceremony today (September 25). This annual event seeks to enhance students’ understanding of local history and culture while encouraging active learning outside class through extensive research. Over 240 entries from secondary schools participated this year – written reports as well as face-to-face interviews – and winning teams were determined based on criteria such as relevance of research theme, systematic use of collected materials, objective analysis, citation of sources.
Students wishing to express their ideas about how Hong Kong can contribute to international development efforts and influence its role on the global stage are welcome to enter. Participants will have the chance to present their proposals directly to key players within the development sector as well as win up to HK$10,000 for their school!
The Hong Kong Speech Contest is one of the key educational events held every year to enable students to hone their communication and public speaking abilities, providing an invaluable opportunity for local children from across Hong Kong to compete. Here, students will have an opportunity to meet fellow competitors from their school before being judged based on how well they present a topic as well as answer any questions from judges.
