Hong Kong summers can be scorching hot, with oppressive humidity and torrential downpours making for an unpleasant atmosphere. Don’t despair though: swimming can provide a welcome respite. From Morrison Hill Swimming Pool’s mega water play area to Tseung Kwan O pool – here are some great public pools across Hong Kong to help beat the heat while having some fun this season! We have put together some great options here that offer cooling off opportunities while having some good fun this season!

The stylish new Kennedy Town community swimming pool was developed and constructed between 2008 and 2017 in two similar phases by MTR, replacing an earlier pool which had to be demolished during construction of West Island Line. Client MTR used an NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract as part of this second phase to compare performance against conventional procurement used during first phase; this paper discusses tendering, team-building, construction process as well as lessons learnt.

Hong Kong and Kowloon boast over 40 public pools, offering both indoor and outdoor pool experiences. Sessions run daily between 6:30am-12:00, 1:00-6:00 and 7:00-10:00pm with 50m pools or children’s pools usually being available; entry costs about $19 per session with locker rental included as part of your ticket; you can secure these lockers using either your own padlock or refundable coin, storing your belongings while enjoying a session session.

Locating an empty swim lane in a city with such a small population can be challenging, made more so by some pools being closed due to a shortage of lifeguards. A union representative warned that up to half of the city’s 45 pools may close their lanes or facilities designated for swimming instruction this summer due to insufficient staffing levels.

Luxury seekers looking for an extravagant rooftop pool experience should visit W Hong Kong’s rooftop pool for breathtaking views and luxurious swimming experience. Their large rooftop infinity pool features deckchairs, drinks and high-speed internet; while their smaller jacuzzi-pool offers an unforgettable Gatsby-esque experience.

For those wanting a true glimpse of the city skyline, The Ritz-Carlton’s indoor pool on the 118th floor of the International Commerce Center provides stunning views – you can even spot The Shard from here! Open to the public during certain hours, this pool makes an excellent place for social swimming – though prices are a little steep; nonetheless you are guaranteed some memorable moments here; make sure you bring along your camera! And don’t forget sunscreen because swimming will cause your skin to burn more rapidly than usual!
